About us
Practical HVAC Help for the Santa Clara Valley
A home's HVAC system in the Santa Clara Valley has two jobs. Summers are dry and can get hot, especially in the inland and southern parts of the valley. Winters are mild but damp and chilly enough that you want reliable heat on a cold morning. RapidBreeze HVAC Repair Service handles both for homeowners in San Jose and the surrounding cities. We repair air conditioners, furnaces, and heat pumps. When replacement makes more sense, we install new systems. We also handle maintenance, duct cleaning, and indoor air quality work. When you call, we start by finding out what's actually wrong. Then we walk you through what we found, what your options are, and what each one involves, so you can make the choice that fits your home and budget. If a repair will do the job, we'll tell you. If your system is near the end of its life, we'll explain why and talk through what comes next.

How a visit goes
-
Diagnosis before recommendations
We test and inspect before suggesting a fix. When we can, we show you the problem, so the recommendation makes sense to you.
-
Repair or replace, explained plainly
We lay out the trade-offs of fixing your current equipment versus replacing it. That includes the age of the system, its efficiency, and any local rules that may apply.
-
Respect for your home
We protect floors and work areas while we're on the job and clean up when we're done.

Do I have to replace my gas furnace because of the new Bay Area Air District rules?
No. The Air District's appliance rules don't require you to replace working equipment. They apply only when an existing furnace fails or is replaced. Gas furnaces manufactured from 2029 on must meet a zero-NOx emission standard. In practice, that points homeowners toward heat pumps when they replace a furnace after that date. If your furnace is working, you can keep using and repairing it.
Is there still a federal tax credit for heat pumps?
Not for new installations. The federal Energy Efficient Home Improvement Credit (25C) covered qualifying heat pumps placed in service before December 31, 2025. It isn't available for systems installed after that date.
Are there local incentives for heat pumps or electrification?
There may be. Bay Area homeowners can check BayREN and their local clean energy provider for current heat pump and electrification incentives. Amounts and availability change with each funding cycle, so we confirm the current offer before including it in a quote.
Should I repair or replace my air conditioner?
It depends on the system's age, its overall condition, how often it has needed repairs, and what the current problem involves. A single failed part on a system in good shape is often worth fixing. An older system with repeated breakdowns may be a better candidate for replacement. We'll walk you through both options after we diagnose the problem.
Why is my AC running but not cooling the house?
Common causes include a clogged air filter, a frozen evaporator coil, low refrigerant from a leak, a dirty outdoor coil, or a failing capacitor or fan motor. Start by checking the filter and making sure the outdoor unit isn't blocked. If that doesn't help, it's time for a diagnostic visit.
How often should I schedule HVAC maintenance?
Once a year works for most systems. Schedule a heating check before winter and a cooling check before summer. Heat pumps do both jobs, so a yearly visit covers heating and cooling performance together.
Is a ductless mini-split a good fit for my home?
Mini-splits work well for homes without ductwork, additions, converted garages, and rooms that stay too hot or too cold. They heat and cool, and each indoor unit can be controlled separately. We look at your layout and goals to see if one makes sense.
How do I know if my ducts need cleaning?
Signs include visible dust blowing from vents, debris inside the ducts, musty odors, or evidence of pests. Duct cleaning is also worth considering after a renovation that created a lot of dust. We can inspect your ducts and tell you what we see.
