The short answer
Yes, RapidBreeze repairs furnaces, air conditioners, and heat pumps throughout southern San Mateo County, from Redwood City to Woodside and La Honda. Bay Area Air District rules don't force you to replace working equipment, so a repair is often a reasonable choice when your system can be fixed.

What Bay Area Air District Rules Mean for Repairs
San Mateo County is part of the Bay Area Air District. Under Rule 9-4, natural gas furnaces manufactured from 2029 must meet a zero-NOx emission standard. In practice, that points homeowners toward heat pumps when they replace a furnace after that date.
These rules don't require you to replace equipment that works. They apply only when a furnace or water heater fails or is replaced. If your furnace can be repaired, you can keep using it.
Water heaters have a separate timeline. The zero-NOx date for small water heaters under Rule 9-6 was set for 2027. The Air District Board is considering amendments in November 2026 that could delay it, so check the current rule before you plan a replacement.
Incentives and Tax Credits
The federal Energy Efficient Home Improvement Credit (25C) covered qualifying heat pumps placed in service before December 31, 2025. It isn't available for new installations after that date.
Local programs may still help. Check BayREN and your local clean energy provider for current heat pump and electrification incentives. Amounts and availability change with each funding cycle, so we confirm the current offer before we mention it in a quote.
What to Expect on a Repair Visit
Our technician will ask what you've noticed and then inspect the equipment. Next, we'll walk you through the cause and your choices: repair now, or plan for a replacement if the system is near the end of its life. You decide. We start the work only after you approve it.
